Magnolia Hotels amazing customer service

I always forget to pack something: a toothbrush, brush, matching tie...

But I checked into a Magnolia hotel and realized I forgot my razor. I called down to ask if they sold razors. They didn't. But the concierge WENT OUT TO RITE AID and bought me a razor and small can of shaving cream.

I paid him back and tipped him.

Best customer service ever!!!

Denver ups the cool factor

Have you been to Denver lately? I have. Many, many times.

In interest of full disclosure, I represent the state of Colorado. So I am a but biased. But I've been there enough times that I should be jaded; but I am not.

The dining scene is getting better and better each year. Boulder, to the north of Denver is definitely a great place for foodies, having been featured in The New York Times as early as 2007 and it's only gotten better since then. There's Frasca, Salt, Oak on Fourteenth and more that have gotten national attention. Not to mention Jax Fish House, where Hosea Rosenberg, winner of Top Chef, plies his trade.

But enough about Boulder, because I can go on forever on how cool Boulder is. And I can do the same for Denver too. The whole front range is impressive, as far as the quality of restaurants or even really excellent southwest cuisine. There are some hole in the wall places that have the BEST tamales!

The fact is, not many people will go to Denver just for the food. But let me tell you, it will surprise you and it will make your vacation that much better inbetween the hiking, biking, kayaking.........

Ever wonder how candy is made?

Ever wonder how certain candies are made? I had the chance to tour the Hammond Candies factory in Colorado and it is AWESOME. Try it if you ever have the chance.

It's Up to You, New York...

I hate riding on the subway.

I try and only take it in the morning because I work on Fifth Avenue and 28th Street and that's just too far to walk in the morning, especially when it's cold. But on the way home, provided I have enough time, I'll walk it. It's good to walk and it only takes about 15-20 minutes.

Even worse is that I am in Colorado so often, where the air is beautifully fresh and the people are so friendly, it makes taking a crowded tube that much worse!

So, ride the six train while dreaming of the next time I'll be in Colorado, which thankfully is never that far away!
